Online security in the corporate world - Part 1 -
Earlier this year, the Infocomm Development Authority together with the Association of Information Security Professionals announced a new code of practice for Internet Service providers here. The measures were introduced under Singapore’s Infocomm Security Masterplan 2. The new code is part of a package of measures aimed at strengthening Singapore’s preparedness against cyber threats to information security. The move comes as corporations increasingly turn to the internet to carry out transactions and store confidential databases. As new systems are invented to ease workflow and improve efficiency, new problems are also encountered. Mubin Sa’adat talks to the experts to find out more about the challenges of online security in the corporate world.

Honour killings have risen sharply in India recently. Politicians are saying that the rising trend is, in fact, bringing great dishonour to the image of modern India. Young men and women are being killed by members of their own family for having intimate social contact, sometimes marrying outside their caste or religious group. An ancient barbaric tradition? ... or the outcome of modernity and economic progress?
